Washington - US President Joe Biden made a gaffe on Thursday when he mistakenly referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Russian President Vladimir Putin during a speech.
The error occurred during a press conference held by Biden and Zelensky in the Oval Office. While discussing the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, Biden mistakenly said, "I want to thank President Putin for taking the time to be here.
The room fell silent as those present realized the mistake. Biden quickly corrected himself, saying, "I mean President Zelensky, of course." Zelensky smiled and shook his head, while Biden apologized for the error.
